Every Malayalam film buff has been waiting eagerly to know when the shooting of Lucifer would commence ever since its announcement several months ago. It is the most hyped film in Mollywood right now because it will mark Prithviraj’s debut as director and he will be directing the superstar Mohanlal.

While there were reports that the shooting would commence during summer 2018, it did not happen leaving the fans wanting to know when it would start. In a recent interview, Prithviraj disclosed that the discussions have come to an end and that it will go onto the floors on July 18.

Antony Perumbavoor will be bankrolling the project under the banner of Aashirvad films. The technical crew of Lucifer includes Murali Gopi as the scriptwriter and Sujith Warrier as the cinematographer. Manju Warrier has been roped in to play the female lead in it with reports that the star cast would also include Indrajith, Tovino Thomas and Saniya Iyappan.

Both Prithviraj and Mohanlal are busy with their acting assignments right now and they will be done with it by July, say sources. While Prithivraj is acting in the sci-fi thriller Nine, Mohanlal has a bunch of films lined up for release this year.

Mohanlal’s next film release would be the Ajoy Varma directorial Neerali. The film is currently into the post-production mode and will hit the silver screens on July 12. His next release would be the ambitious project Odiyan, directed by Shri Kumar Menon. For this fantasy thriller, Mohanlal had shed several kilos of weight to look young for one of the get-ups. He has Kayamkulam Kochunni lined up for release this year as well. While Nivin Pauly plays the lead role in it, Mohanlal will be making a cameo appearance. He will also be joining Tamil actor Suriya for Suriya 36, which is being directed by cinematographer turned director KV Anand. The film, which will start rolling from June 23 in London, will be shot in nearly 10 countries.
