Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan has carved a niche for himself in Mollywood and has acted in a couple of Tamil movies – Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and OK Kanmani – which earned him the star status in the Tamil film industry as well.

He is now all set to make his debut in Bollywood with Karwaan. Directed by debutant Akarsh Khurana, the film has Dulquer Salmaan, Irfaan Khan and Mithila Palkar playing the lead roles.

Touted to be a road film, the director completed shooting some of the portions in Tamil Nadu recently and the team has moved over to Kerala. Reports about Karwaan’s progress suggest that the film will be shot in various locations in Kerala such as Kochi, Thrissur and Kumarakom. Karwaan, a light-hearted comedy, is being bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala. The film’s shooting is on and it is expected to hit the marquee early next year.

While Dulquer is busy shooting for this flick, he has a handful of projects in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil as well. The star also has Mahanati, which is a multi-lingual biopic on the legendary actor Savitri. To be released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, he will be seen playing the legendary star Gemini Ganesan, husband of Savitri. Mahanati has Keerthy Suresh as Savitri while Samantha will be seen as a journo.

Other Dulquer Salmaan films lined up for release are Parava in which he plays an extended cameo with a screen presence of about 25 minutes. His Solo is also gearing up for release with the star appearing in four different get-ups. Apart from these projects, Dulquer has Oru Bhayankara Kamukan by Lal Jose, Sukumara Kurup by Srinath Rajendran and a couple of Tamil films in a nascent stage.
