Julia Roberts looked stunning in an off-shoulder black dress and a behemoth necklace as she walked the red carpet for the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. To everyone's surprise, she started up the stairs bare feet with her trademark grin in place.
It is believed that Julia Roberts was taking a pot-shot at the 2015 “Flatgate” controversy at the same event by walking the red bare feet. An “unwritten rule” of the Cannes film festival - well more of a tradition - dictates that all women must wear high-heels on the red carpet. Last year many women were turned away from the event for not following this laughable protocol, including older women with medical conditions.
However, Julia Roberts knows how to skirt the law. According to a report, an attendant carried her heels up for her, while she was busy showing off her bare feet and bright smile to the flashing cameras. Once on top, she got back into her footwear.
