There is an interesting box office clash set to happen in Sandalwood next month. Yes, according to reports, Shiva Rajkumar’s Rustum and Upendra’s I Love You have locked in on the same release date. Both these films will be out in theatres on June 14, confirm sources.
Trade sources point out that the makers of Rustum are planning a big release and the film is likely to be released in 500 screens across India. And I Love You, being a Kannada-Telugu bilingual, is expected to get 600 screens in Karnataka and 400 screens in Telugu speaking regions.
Rustum is helmed by the stunt director turned director Ravi Varma and produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner Jayanna Combines. Shraddha Srinath has been roped in to play the lead opposite Shiva Rajkumar and Mayuri will be seen as Shiva Rajkumar’s sister. Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi plays an important role in this film. A romantic action entertainer, Rustum will have Anoop Seelin scoring the music and Mahendra Simha wielding the camera. According to reports, Shiva Rajkumar plays a cop in this flick and he will be sporting a new look in it. Being an action entertainer, fans can expect to see some daredevilry stunts in the film.
I Love You, starring Upendra and Rachita Ram in the lead roles, is directed and produced by Chandru.
It may be recalled here that Upendra launched I Love You on May 21 last year amidst a lot of expectations among his fans. The songs from the film have turned out to be hits, and the posters and teasers released earlier indicate that it is a romantic entertainer. Sonu Gowda plays a pivotal role in this flick, besides a host of supporting actors. The technical crew of I Love You includes music by Kiran Thotambyle and cinematography by Naveen Kumar.
