Moments before her death, actress Shikha Joshi has allegedly named prominent cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vijay Sharma amongst others, whom she claimed had been harassing her, claimed her friend in a statement to the police.The police told the Indian Express that the authenticity of the audio recording would have to be verified. Meanwhile Joshi’s friend Madhubharti Pathan told them that the actress was depressed in past 8-10 days because she had been unable to secure employment.The context was that in October 2011, Joshi had accused Sharma of molestation. She had claimed that while performing a breast examination on her, he molested her. He was later arrested. The surgeon was charged with molestation in separate instances in 2008 and managed to get bail in both the cases.The 2011 case is still proceeding at a court in Bandra. Samadhan Dhanedhar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, D N Nagar Division told The Express that the audio clip would have to be sent to the Kalina Forensic Sciences Laboratory for verification. Joshi, who was 40 years old, slit her throat with a kitchen knife on Saturday evenin at Pathan’s house in Andheri (West).However, her brother Vishesh Joshi had a new twist to add to the case. He told NDTV that he had spoken to her an hour before they heard of her death and that at the time, she sounded normal. Claiming that there was pressure on Shikha to withdraw the case.
