After being sexually harassed for months by her neighbour, Tumakuru woman filed a complaint after the accused allegedly started threatening to post nude pictures of her on social media if she did not perform sexual favours.
“Maya and Satya were known to each other. But he has sexually abused her. We have arrested him and further investigations are on,” the police said.
According to Bangalore Mirror, 24-years old Maya (name changed), who was a private firm employee lived in a rented house in Peenya in the outskirts of Bengaluru. She was undergoing training in BEL where she met Satya who was also undergoing the same training.
Satya got Maya’s phone number and within a few days allegedly started sending her obscene messages and sought sexual favours. Maya withdrew from the friendship by avoiding his calls, reported Bangalore Mirror.
Maya hesitated to confide in her parents, who stayed in Tumakuru, for the fear that her parents would ground her and also of social stigma.
BM reported that a few days later Satya allegedly dropped by her house and attempted to rape her following which Maya shifted to Agrahara Dasarahalli, where she was assaulted by Satya. He later allegedly raped her and videotaped the incident and blackmailed her with the same.
