Sasi Kumar will have two films hitting the marquee for Pongal next year. The makers of both these films have announced that their respective films – MGR Magan and Raja Vamsam – will be making it to the silver screens for Pongal.

Director Ponram wielded the megaphone for MGR Magan. Veteran actor Sathyaraj was roped in to play an important role in this flick. It may be noted here that Ponram had made his directorial debut with the Siva Karthikeyan starrer Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam which also had Sathyaraj in a pivotal role.

Raja Vamsam is being directed by debut director KV Kathirvelu. The film has Sasikumar playing the lead role with Nikki Galrani as the female lead. Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiah, Singam Puli, Rekha, and Nirosha form the supporting cast.

The director told in an interview with the Times of India much earlier, “Though the film is a full-on entertainer, it also touches upon some relevant issues in our society. I’m sure the audience who watch the film will regret having missed certain things in their lives. I’ve emphasised the importance of embracing something important to lead a happy life. Also, the unpredictable climatic conditions we have been facing of late will also be highlighted in it. We have places which get washed away due to heavy rains, and on the other hand, there are places where people keep waiting for one drop of water.”

Touted to be a family entertainer, the film has been shot in various locations in Pollachi, Chennai and Bangkok. Sasi Kumar also has Naa Naa currently under production. The first look of the actor-filmmaker Sasi Kumar’s upcoming film Naa Naa was released a couple of months ago and looked to be intriguing.

The first look showed Sasi Kumar peeling off a mask and makes one wonder what the story is all about. Naa Naa, which is the abbreviated form of Naan Naarayanan, is touted to be an action-adventure with the city background.
