Kannada movie Chillum will be the comeback venture for two stars in Sandalwood – Saritha and Raghavendra Rajkumar. While Raghavendra will be seen playing a negative role in the movie, Saritha has a crucial role to play. Directed by J Chandrakala, the film has Manoranjan as the main lead.

Reports say that Saritha agreed to be a part of Chillum after the film’s director impressed her with the script. Currently in Dubai, Saritha is expected to join the sets in June this year.

Saritha, one of the finest actors the film industry has seen till date, began her acting career with the Kannada movie Beretha Jeeva way back in 1975. Since then, she has acted in numerous films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, and won several prestigious awards. Besides acting, Saritha is also an accomplished dubbing artiste, having done voiceovers for several leading heroines.

Her work in the Kannada film industry include Thappida Thala (1978), Keralida Simha (1981), Jeevakke Jeeva (1981), Kaamana Billu (1983), Eradu Rekhegalu (1984), Mugila Mallige (1985) and Dashamukha (2012), to name a few. It may be mentioned here that Saritha was to stage a comeback with the Mahesh Kumar debut directorial Ayogya, but she had to opt out due to call sheet issues.

Interestingly, Raghavendra Rajkumar will also be staging a comeback with Chillum. His last film was Pakkadmane Hudugi which was out in theatres in 2004. He made his debut as hero with Chiranjeevi Sudhakara in 1988 and his Nanjundi Kalyana, which hit the marquee a year later, was one of the biggest hits in his career till date. The star opted out of acting in 2004 and went on to produce films under the banner Vajreshwari Combines.

With the two stars teaming up for Chillum and staging a comeback, fans are waiting eagerly for the film’s release.
