The shooting of director SS Rajamouli’s RRR is currently under progress. The film was announced last year and the shooting commenced recently with the team filming an action block. According to reports, director SS Rajamouli has roped in actor – filmmaker Samuthirakani for a pivotal role in RRR. Samuthirakani is not new to the Telugu audience as he had directed the Telugu remake of Nimirndhu Nil titled as Janda Pai Kapi Raju. He also made a cameo appearance in the Telugu movie Shambo Shiva Shambo. Reports are that Samuthirakani will be playing Ram Charan Teja’s paternal uncle in RRR. Director Rajamouli felt that he would be apt to play the role considering his matured personality.

It may be noted here that there were reports that the Kannada star Yash has been approached for a role in RRR as well. However, Yash put an end to it as mere rumours. He has said that neither Rajamouli nor none from his team had ever approached him for the role.

RRR stars two of Tollywood’s top stars Ram Charan Teja and Jr NTR in the lead roles. The shooting of this flick commenced recently and reports are that the director has begun with an action sequence that will feature both the heroes. While Jr NTR will be sporting a bulky look with a beard, Ram Charan will be seen with a completely different new hairstyle. A top hairstylist has been brought in to work on it. This definitely has the fans thrilled. Massive and extravagant sets have been erected for shooting the fight scene and it is progressing well. Meanwhile, the team is scouting for suitable heroines to pair up with the heroes. RRR is being made on a budget of Rs 300 crore, we hear and elaborate sets have been erected for the shooting.
