The Mumbai Mirror has done it. In what was an otherwise regular story about comedian Tanmay Bhatt, embroiled in the recent Lata-Sachin roast controversy, the paper made the mistake of thinking Buzzfeed India’s Editor-in-Chief Rega Jha shared more than just a last name with Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha, calling her his daughter. The error caught Twitteratis’ attention when the paper tweeted a correction, and the Twitter floodgates burst open. We’ll just lay the evidence on the table.
We erroneously mentioned that @RegaJha is the daughter of Congress spokesman @JhaSanjay.We were misinformed and profusely apologize to them.

A family split apart by fate, is brought together by the Mirror:
Dear @RegaJha ; very proud of my feisty, fearless, fiery " daughter". Since we have unfortunately never met, shall we do a Starbucks??
— Sanjay Jha (@JhaSanjay) May 31, 2016
But other family squabbles are suddenly brought into the open:
Alia Bhatt is upset wit brother Tanmay Bhat fr his Snapchat video. She decided 2 complain about it to their mom Pooja Bhatt. - Mumbai Mirror
— Pooja Darade (@p00h_world) May 31, 2016
And the possibilities are limitless:
Mumbai Mirror : Amit Shah, Naseeruddin Shah and Taher Shah are brothers.
— Avinash Laghate (@MancunianMe) May 31, 2016
Though some of it makes the mind boggle:
If Anandiben & Jasodaben are sisters, then how is Anandiben related to Narendra Modi?
— Arifuddin Mohammed (@Arifuddin_Moh) May 31, 2016
- Mumbai Mirror
But of course, on-screen intimacies do clarify some matters:
until dey were cast in Dhadkan ,Mumbai Mirror was thinking dat Sunil n Shilpa Shetty r siblings
— Azam Khan's Buffalo (@jenaanindya) May 31, 2016
And then there are those who see the full potential of this:
Hey Mumbai Mirror, always wanted to be related to Satyajit Ray. Only you can make the impossible possible.
— Sting Ray (@Purba_Ray) May 31, 2016
And others who think we shouldn’t only stop with such bonds between people:
Didn't know that Mumbai Mirror is Fakingnews' father.
— Trendulkar (@Trendulkar) May 31, 2016
And finally, the poor youth, who see the future of journalism:
*studies journalism and gets a degree*
— Sahil Shah (@SahilBulla) May 31, 2016
Sees Snapchat on news and Mumbai Mirror publishing lies
*burns degree and joins BJP*
