The News Minute | February 26, 2015 | 09:36 am IST According to law enforcers, it is allegedly illegal to have rear-view mirrors inside an auto, and if women are harassed by auto drivers through the rear-view mirror, they can file a complaint, states a report by Bangalore Mirror. City traffic police and transport department officials are reportedly planning to take action against auto drivers who have installed rear-view mirrors inside the autos. Rear-view mirrors are usually used by drivers to see vehicles behind them. 'But in autos, there is no visibility of vehicles from behind. Only the passenger is in focus', states the report. However, officials have said that there have been no specific complaints relating auto drivers harassing women through rear-view mirrors. A senior official told Bangalore Mirror that the reason why there have been no complaints is because most don't know that "a rearview mirror inside an auto is illegal. If they were aware of the law, there would have been thousands of cases by now."
