Kannada film star V Ravichandran will soon commence shooting for his next, titled Ravi Bopanna. Touted to be a cybercrime thriller, the film will be directed by him and will also star him in the lead, with the music also composed by him. Starring Ravichandran as a retired cybercrime police officer, the film will also have actor Sudeep in a special cameo.

Confirming this in a media interaction, Ravichandran said, “Sudeep is like my first son, and he would never say no to me. I called him, and he said yes, without a second thought. Moreover, the hero of this film will be highlighted only through this actor, who is playing the lawyer’s role, and I didn’t find anybody better than Sudeep. We have discussed it, and he is ready to participate in the shoot for a couple of days, as and when it is scheduled.”

The film will star Kavya Shetty opposite Ravichandran. “I am more excited … because it is known that he has a unique style of filmmaking, and gets into the little details, and it will not be as easy to shoot with him. I am looking forward to starting the shoot,” Kavya said.

Ravichandran’s most recent release was Kurukshetra, which is directed by Naganna. Darshan plays Duryodhana while Ravichandran is seen as Krishna in this mythological drama. The film also has the late star Ambareesh, Arjun Sarja, Sonu Sood, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Sneha, Hariprriya, Meghana Raj and P Ravi Shankar in pivotal roles.

Ravichandran made his acting debut with the Kannada movie Kula Gourava as a child artiste in 1971 and since then has acted in a number of films. In 1982, he first produced Prema Matsara and made his debut as a hero the same year with Khadeema Kallaru. In 1987, he made his debut as director with Premaloka, a film that had him in the lead role as well.
