The NTR biopic is one of the most anticipated biopics in the Telugu film industry. With a number of biopics currently in the making, including the YSR biopic Yathra and the Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy biopic Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, fans are looking forward to the NTR biopic as it features N Balakrishna in the title role. Being the son of NTR and a star himself with a huge fan following, it is natural that expectations are very high.

Rana Daggubati will be playing the current Chief Minister of Andhra, N Chandrababu Naidu, who happens to be NT Rama Rao’s son-in-law as well. Recently, the actor unveiled his look from the biopic on the former actor and AP CM NT Rama Rao. He tweeted a still from the film and indicated that it’s based on Chandrababu’s younger days. Chandrababu married Bhuvaneswari, NTR’s third daughter, in 1980.

The star recently met the CM in preparation for the film and posted his excitement on his Twitter handle thus: “What an honour it is to play the role of the Honourable ChiefMinister of Andhra Pradesh Mr.N.ChandraBabuNaidu @ncbn in the #NTR biopic. Thank you sir for giving us your valuable time.”

On inking the deal to star in the biopic, he had posted much earlier, “Coming together to tell you a story of an incredible human phenomenon called “N.T. RamaRao”.”

The biopic is bankrolled by Balakrishna along with Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri. Director Teja was initially roped in to direct the film but he opted out for various reasons and now the project is being helmed by J Krish. The film will be a Sankranthi release next year and the team is working hard to meet this deadline.

Bollywood actor Vidya Balan has been roped in to play NTR’s wife Basavatarakam in it. The star cast also comprises Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma, Rakul Preet Singh, Jisshu and Kaikala Satyanarayana in pivotal roles.
