Veteran actor Radikaa Sarath Kumar has been roped in to play a don in director Saran’s upcoming film Market Raja MBBS. She will be playing Aarav’s mother in this flick. On this, the director has told in an interview to Times of India, “Radikaa plays Arav’s mother, who is a don in Perambur. She has stepped into her father, MR Radha’s shoes to play this character. She will be mimicking MR Radha sir’s body language and voice modulation to a certain extent.”
Besides Radhika playing a don, the hero will also be seen as a local don and a railway contractor. On it, the director told, “It doesn’t feel like he’s a newbie. We have seen him on Bigg Boss Tamil, but audiences will see him in an all-new avatar in this film.”
The director added that making films on don interests him the most. He reportedly told, “They are interesting, aren’t they? I have dealt with gangsters in my previous films like Amarkalam, Attagasam, Gemini, and even Vasool Raja MBBS, but this film will be different. Arav will have more of an eccentric side to him.”
Reports are that about 80 percent of the shooting has been completed so far. The team will begin the shooting of the next schedule that will happen in Chennai. The technical crew of this film includes Simon K King for music and KV Guhan for cranking the camera.
Director Saran began his career with the Ajith starrer Kadhal Mannan in 1998 and went on to direct films such as Amarkalam, Attagasam, Gemini, Aasal, Vasool Raja MBBS, etc. Incidentally, most of his films were about dons and dadas, which indicate his fascination for the subject.
On the other hand, Radikaa is a part of Mohanlal's next Ittymaani: Made in China which went on floors recently. Directed by newcomers Jibi and Joju, Radikaa would be joining hands with Mohanlal after 34 years.
She also has another film The Gambinos, a Malayalam film set in the Malabar region is currently being directed by Girish Panicker Mattada. It will be a film that revolves around the main character Mamma, played by Radikaa Sarathkumar. She will be instrumental in bringing the crime families together.
Radikaa is also a part of Sivakarthikeyan's next directed by M Rajesh which is slated to hit the screens this month. She also has Gautham Menon directorial, Dhruva Natchathiram, with Vikram playing the lead role and Aishwarya Rajesh and Ritu Varma as the leading ladies.
