The News Minute| June 6, 2014| 8.30 am ISTIt was once touted as the emerging IT city, but soon lost the status to Bangalore. Years of trouble brewing because of the Telangana agitation also made Hyderabad a place that investors and companies shied away from. But now with all that behind, brand Hyderabad needs to be put back on the map and that is priority no.1 for him says state’s IT minister and K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son K T Rama Rao. The expansion plans of many tech majors like Facebook, Google, Amazon and Cognizant will be revived and fast tracked now. Rao told the media that the Information Technology Infrastructure Region- a long term plan funded with central government’s help will be put back on track, the focus will however be on short term projects.Telanga state will now actively try to woo more investors and clear the path for expansions of companies that already function out of Hyderabad. The expansion plans if materialized can create more than 40,000 new jobs, but the new government has quite a few challenges ahead. Land has to be acquired for some of these projects and the government will have to find a way to solve the litigation regarding some of the land acquisition.
