In 2015, Kerala saw many protests by left wing and Congress supporters against rising fascism at the behest of right wingers. Now in a twist, a group of right wing ideologists organised an event called the Vishwa Manava Sangamam on Thursday in Kozhikode against fascism and anarchism. Their contention was that ‘real fascism is followed by left ideology groups, not the right wing groups'.

Malayalam film director Ali Akbar who was recently in news for speaking about child sexual abuse inside Madrassas and other social activists were present in the event.

The two hour programme organized in Kozhikode beach had cultural programmes including folk dance, tribal dance performances and folk songs.

“There are many protests against fascism and intolerance by supporters of left wing ideology. The political killings by communist party, the intolerance they practice in countries like China is fascism. Our protest is also against terrorism,” Prajesh Kumar one of the organizer of the event told The News Minute.

“Events like kiss of love are against our tradition and it encourages anarchy. This event has been organized as a reply to the people who create criminals like Rahul Pasupalan,” he added.

"The Manava Sangamam was for the people who died in Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, for the Jews who were murdered by Hitler, for those who died on two world wars,  for those who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, for Yazidis who died in terror attacks and for all who lost their lives with attacks from red terrorism (communism)", an organizer said.

According to the organisers around 300 people participated the event.

Earlier there were a similar event was conducted by Left activists in Ernakulam against ‘fascism’ and religious intolerance.
