A new proposal is being floated to resolve the Ayodhya dispute, involving the construction of a temple and a mosque side by side.

According to a report in The Hindu, the main litigant in the case Hashim Ansari has asked the chief of the Akhara Parishad Mahant Gyan Das, whether such a plan was agreeable to the latter and if yes, whether it could be presented to the Supreme Court for an out of court settlement.

The proposal involves the construction of both a temple and a mosque on the 70-acre disputed area, separated by a wall that was 100 feet high.
