Anupama Parameswaran made her debut as heroine with the hit movie Premam, directed by Alphonse Putheran and there has been no looking back for this gorgeous actor since then. Her star status rose several notches up with this single movie and this gave rise to speculation that she would go on to sign up more Malayalam films. However, after the grand success of Premam, Anupama had acted in just two Malayalam films - James & Alice and Jomonte Suvisheshangal as she had shifted her focus to the Telugu film industry.

She was seen playing the female lead in the Tollywood movies such as A Aa, the Telugu version of Permam going by the same title, Sathamanam Bhavati, and Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi. She also made her debut in Kollywood with the Dhanush starrer Kodi.

With Anupama moving over to Tollywood and Kollywood and signing lesser Malayalam movies, fans are curious to know if she would ever get back to work in Malayalam films. In an interview to the First Post, she had said, “I don’t get a lot of gap from Telugu films (laughs). On a serious note, I did act in Jomonte Suvisheshangal after I made my debut in Premam. It’s just that whenever I got good offers from Malayalam in the past couple of years, I was almost always busy with some film or the other in Telugu. The Telugu film industry has been really kind to me and I can’t leave out such beautifully written characters that I’m being offered. At the moment, I’m shooting for 15 days in a month for A Karunakaran’s film and the rest for Trinadh Rao Nakkina’s Hello Guru Prema Kosame.”

On her work plan, the actor is reported to have told, “Last year, I shot for only one film (Vunnadi Okkate Zindagi). I’m okay with not signing a film if I don’t get good roles but I don’t want to sign films just for the sake of it.”
