The anti-piracy cell of the Kerala Police on Monday, arrested three staff members of the Censor Board in connection with the piracy of recent Malayalam blockbuster Premam. Speaking to the media, the police said that Nidhin, Arun Kumar and Kumaran, who were temporary staff at the Censor Board head office had a major role in the leakage of the censor copy of the movie. The leaked copy of the Nivin Pauly starrer which was shared on torrents, carried the watermark "Censor Copy”. Producers usually include the water mark “Censor Copy” on copies of the movie handed over to the Censor Board. The row over Premam’s piracy was initiated when its producer Anwar Rasheed Rasheed quit his membership from all Malayalam film associations accusing them of not supporting his demand for stringent action against piracy and had lodged a complaint with the anti-piracy cell of Kerala police,
