The Malayalam film project "Love in Angengo," had generated quite a buzz when it was first announced because it would bring together Pratap Pothen, Anjali Menon and Dulquer Salman. However, it now seems that Pratap Pothen has withdrawn from the project, apparently over disagreements about the script.

Last year Pothen had shared his excitement about working with Dulquer in a Facebook post. The young actor had expressed his gratitude to Pothen in return in a long post. Dulquer had also announced that the film would go on the floors early in 2016 once he wrapped up other commitments.

With more than half the year having passed, and no work beginning on the film, fans had begun asking what had happened to the film. On Monday, Pothen replied to a comment from one of his fans on Facebook that he has withdrawn from “Love in Angengo”, as he did not like the script. The script is written by Anjali Menon, who had earlier scripted the super hits “Ustad Hotel” and “Bangalore Days”.

“I am not doing anjengo .....,because i didnt like the script .....and I walked out .......i will direct only if am going to enjoy the process and no because some genius has written crap (sic),” reads Pothan’s comment.

On Tuesday, he posted an article about his withdrawal from the project, and wrote that he regretted not being able to work with Dulquer.

“I missed a chance to work with an actor who I was dying to work with...I missed working with his dad ....well sometimes one is just unlucky,” he wrote.

To a fan’s comment that “Bangalore Days” was an overrated film, and Anjali Menon would find it hard to produce another hit, Pothen replied, “I wont comment on that .......she is lucky 120 days she took to make bangalore day (sic).”

Ironically while announcing the film last year on FB, Pothen had had many generous words of praise for Anjali’s script.

When asked about Pothen’s comments, Anjali Menon told Sify, "I don't think I should dignify slander with a response.” she said.
