His grandfather seems to have aged more gracefully than he did. In fact, the grandfather, in the picture taken 40 years ago, looks younger and more fit than than the grandson in the picture taken 40 years later. Is it the change in lifestyle or attitudes of the two generations that makes the difference? Either ways, quite a photograph!
