The complimentary insurance package offers OYO guests insurance coverage upto Rs 10 lakh.

OYO Hotels and Homes has launched a complimentary insurance cover offering as part of the booking price for guests staying in OYO properties across India. The insurance cover has been launched in partnership with Acko General Insurance.

The complimentary insurance package offers OYO guests insurance coverage upto Rs 10,00,000 for protection against accidental death (coverage upto Rs 10,00,000), baggage loss (coverage upto Rs 10,000), accidental medical expenses (coverage upto Rs 25,000) amongst other benefits like OPD treatment, etc for the entire duration of their stay in a particular city.

“The unique feature which has never been offered before in the Indian hospitality industry, designed in partnership with ACKO, aims to cater to the unexpected, unplanned and isolated situations, that our guests across 300+ cities in the country, that choose OYO as their preferred accommodation option, could face,” Gaurav Ajmera, COO, India and South Asia, OYO said in a statement.

To begin with, OYO will be offering this insurance to guests staying at OYO Hotels, OYO Home, OYO Townhouse, Collection O, SilverKey, Capital O and Palette Resorts, valid for their full period of stay in these properties. The insurance cover will be applicable to bookings made via the OYO App, website, mobile website, direct bookings as well as walk-ins. The offering will be extended to other categories and booking channels in the coming days.

On booking an OYO property, customers will be able to view their insurance policy on the booking confirmation page and by logging on to either of the OYO and Acko websites with their registered mobile numbers.

How to claim insurance

On OYO App/Website, open the app and go to ‘My Bookings’, select the particular stay that you want to claim for from the list of stay. Then click on the ‘Insurance’ option from your stay details page, select the type of claim, follow the next few steps, and your claim will be registered with Acko

On Acko.com, login into the website with your mobile number registered on OYO. Under the ‘Claims’ section, select OYO Claims which opens your ‘My Account’ page and then select the ‘Stay’ filter which opens all your stays. Then pick the particular trip, click on the 'Initiate Claim' button below the Policy details section, select the type of claim, follow the next few steps, and your claim will be registered with Acko.
