The race for capturing the mind and soul of the smart buyer, come 2018 has already started with many announcements coming thick and fast. Among the top players, after Samsung gave out some details of it’s a series phones, the Galaxy A8 and A8+, now it is OnePlus’ turn to be in the news, about its next flagship, the OnePlus 6, the successor to the very successful OnePlus 5.

These are only rumors as yet and not an official announcement. If these reports are to be believed, the company might break its traditional practice of launching of their flagships in June and launch the OnePlus 6 in March 2018 itself. They are relying on the pattern of a new device being launched by the company every three or six months and if the OnePlus 6 is the next phone on the anvil then it could be out in March 2018.

The highlights are said to be the under-display fingerprint sensor and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 sensor.

There are also some reports that suggest that OnePlus will bring in some of the features that one saw in Apple’s iPhone X. These include the facial recognition feature and the 3D camera module. Having already launched the OnePlus 5T, which was the company’s first smartphone with a 6.01-inch display and the bezel-less screen, it will be of interest what more improvements, incremental changes the OnePlus 6 will sport.

In terms of the RAM also, OnePlus 5T has already seen 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and a 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. This smartphone was launched less than six months after it launched its flagship for the year in June.

More details on the incremental features and specs that the company is planning to include in its next flagship may emerge in the days to come.
