Actors Arya and Vishal share a great camaraderie, and have been close for a long time. The duo who have worked together on films such as “Avan Ivan” and “Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga”, had recently announced that they were going to work together in director PS Mithran’s “Irumbu Thirai”, much to the excitement of fans.

The role was to see Arya play an antagonist for the first time in Tamil cinema. But just when plans had been made to commence shooting, it has been learnt Arya has opted out of the project.

Apparently, Arya felt that the time wasn’t right for him to play the antagonist in his career. While he continues to remain on friendly terms with Vishal, he felt he couldn’t take up the role as it might affect his career and cause him to be typecast. Busy with the shooting for “Kadamban”, Arya is currently looking to sign solo lead projects as he desperately needs a hit.

Irumbu Thirai was all set to go on the floors early next year. The film will also star Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The rest of the cast and crew is being finalised.
