Telugu actor Mahesh Babu, whose film SPYder recently launched, seems to be quite content with his role as an actor.

When asked by some media persons if he would take a cue from his counterparts in the film industry such as Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna and host a television show, actor Mahesh Babu replied that he would not.

Though he lauded the work done by the actors, Mahesh said that he wouldn’t do it as it is not his cup of tea. The actor was quoted as saying, “No, Never. I will never be part of anything on TV. I'll continue to do my work in films. Hats-off to them. TV is never my cup of tea.”

With his upcoming film, Bharath Ane Nenu, touted to be a political thriller, he was asked about his political ambitions and if there are any possibilities of him entering politics.

To this, Mahesh Babu replied that he simply doesn’t understand politics and there is no chance of him turning out to be a politician.

The ‘Prince of Tollywood’, as he is affectionately called by his fans, said that his complete attention is on acting and he is trying his best to do different roles which have a scope for performance.

Mahesh Babu also pointed out that he draws his inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan. With a strict no to TV and politics, it is clear that Mahesh’s undivided attention lies on acting in films.

The star is currently expecting the release of SPYder, which is gearing up to hit the silver screens on September 27.

The film has been directed by AR Murugadoss and will mark the star’s debut in the Tamil film industry as it is a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. Harris Jayaraj has composed music for this venture with Santosh Sivan working on the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.
