Director Shyamaprasad, known for coming up with out of the ordinary characters in his films, is now directing Hey Jude, a Malayalam film that has Nivin Pauly and Trisha playing the lead pair.

Speaking about the lead characters in the film, the director had said that both of them are "peculiar" in character and that the film is about how love changes them; particularly the hero, Nivin Pauly, forms the crux of the story.

In an interview to the Times of India, Shyamaprasad had said, “Nivin plays Jude, who is a peculiar character and is at odds with the world around him. Trisha's character Crystal, lives in Goa, and like Jude, is a bit of an oddball herself. The movie is about the interesting situations that happen because of their relationship, and how love and understanding transforms Jude's life.”

Other than Nivin Pauly and Trisha, the film also has Mukesh, Pratap Pothen and Neena Kurup playing pivotal roles. Set in Goa, a major portion of Hey Jude would be shot there, said the director in the interview.

As said by the filmmaker, about 60 percent would be shot in Goa while the rest would be done in Kochi. The director went on to add, “It's definitely lighter and more entertaining, but I will decide on the tone and tenor of the film once we progress with the shooting.”

On the release of the first look of this film earlier this year, Nivin had posted on his Twitter handle, “Presenting the official title design of Hey Jude, a wonderful tale of love, self-discovery, healing and transformation.”And on his role, he wrote, “I play a unique and challenging character. I'm look forward to working with Shyamprasad sir, Trisha and some outstanding cast and crew." Incidentally, Hey Jude would mark Trisha’s debut in Mollywood.
