The News Minute | June 16, 2014 | 8:00 AM IST Nine students from the Sree Krishna college in Guruvayoor were on Sunday arrested accused of being part of their college magazine which had mentioned Prime Minister Modi's name in bad light. The nine were arrested and soon left on bail. The arrested ones include student editor of the magazine, its sub-editors and editorial advisory committee members according to police said.They were charged under many sections including IPC 153 which relates with cases that wantonly provoke people, defamation and also printing matter known to be defamatory. The police say that the case was registered because the magazine used “objectionable and unsavoury” language against Modi in a crossword puzzle. The magazine reportedly also used some unsavory remarks against the Chief Minister of Kerala, Oommen Chandy The college's managing committee, that runs the college has sought an explanation from the principal. This is the second such case that is being reported from Kerala. Earlier a polytechnic college featured Mr. Modi in the list of “negative faces” along with Adolf Hitler, Osama bin Laden and George Bush. The principal and students of this college in Kunnamkulam were also arrested and let off on bail.
