With students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) refusing to back down from their protests, the institute is contemplating 'strong action' that could include rusticating the students or even temporarily shut the institute down.According to a report in The Indian Express, the I&B Ministry has told the students, through the FTII administration, that since they are “inflexible” on their demand for society chairman Gajendra Chauhan's removal, there would be no dialogue with them.However, the FTII administration added that all efforts would be taken, before initiating any drastic measure. The report goes on to add that the agitating students defended their continued protest by saying that the I&B ministry had failed to justify its action of making political appointments."What is the rationale behind making these appointments? The ministry has refused to respond to these posers and also refused to hold discussions on the principal demand raised by us. We will be flexible, but let them first come forth on our first demand.
