For Dia's eighteenth birthday, she and her father embark on a road trip she has been eagerly looking forward to.

While her dad had earlier almost cancelled the trip due to a client meeting, her good grades in school made him change his mind.

All seems to be going well till they make a halt in a deserted area for Dia to take a few photographs. What follows is a nightmare.

This is the plot of a short film titled "The Birthday Trip" written and directed by Bengaluru-based photographer Arjun Kamath, a graduate production student at the School of Cinematic Arts, USC (Los Angeles).

The thriller, which was shot entirely in Bengaluru in December 2014, subtly gives out a powerful message.

Arjun is also known for his captivating photo stories, including "Avani" and "Coming Out".
