The News Minute | January 29, 2015 | 8:35 am ISTAndhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday implied that Telangana's decision to hold a separate EAMCET would be a blatant violation of the AP Reorganization Act and would deprive AP aspirants of equal opportunities.Lakhs of Intermediate students in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh aspiring to study engineering, medicine and agriculture courses have nowhere to go with the TDP and TRS governments failing to find any common ground.Naidu, after a one-and-half hour meeting with governor E S L Narasimhan on Wednesday, told the latter that a separate EAMCET by Telangana would result in AP students being treated as 'non-locals' implying that they will have to compete for the seats in the 15% non local quota whereas Telangana students would get 85% of the seats in colleges.Since a lot of colleges with top facilities are centered around Hyderabad, AP students seeking admission would be at a great disadvantage. This report comes as Telangana continues to insist that it will hold its own Eamcet after claims that the proposals put forward by AP are unacceptable.TweetFollow @thenewsminute
