Nagarjuna was recently stationed in Portugal for the shooting of his upcoming film Manmadhudu 2, sequel of his 2002 rom-com which is directed by Rahul Ravindran. The film was a big hit in his career and after all these years a sequel to it is being made.

In the meanwhile, Nagarjuna is in a hurry to wrap up the film and is planning it as a July release to avoid a box-office clash with Prabhas starrer Saaho, which is scheduled to release on August 15.

Sources told Deccan Chronicle, “Nagarjuna has been working every day for the past one month and wants Manmadhudu 2 to enter its post-production phase as soon as possible. He’s essentially aiming to release the film in July so that, it will land a solo release and will not have to compete with other movies,” said a source in the know.

Keerthy Suresh will be playing a cameo in the movie. There are reports that the film’s director Rahul Ravindran had requested her to play the role as she would be apt for it and Keerthy agreed to hop on board. The film’s star cast comprises Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead with Vennela Kishore, Lakshmi, Devadarshini, Rao Ramesh and Jhansi in supporting roles.

The film will be bankrolled jointly by Nag’s Manam enterprises and P Kiran’s Anandi Art Creations. Rahul Ravindran is wielding the megaphone for this venture.

It may be noted here that Manmadhudu was directed by Vijaya Bhaskar with its story, screenplay and dialogues penned by the ace director Trivikram Srinivas. The film starred Sonali Bendre as Nag’s leading lady with the star cast also including Anshu, Chandra Mohan, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam and Sunil in supporting roles. Its technical crew comprised Devi Sri Prasad for music, Sameer Reddy for cinematography and A Sreekar Prasad for editing.
