A day after Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) workers affiliated to the CPI (M) vandalized a resort owned by MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar over allegations of land encroachment, the MP has hit out at the Pinarayi Vijayan-led state government.
Terming it as "left terror," Rajeev accused the CM of unleashing violence on the resort linked to him, adding that, it was political frustration that is the fuel for leftist violence in the state.
If the CM, who also holds the Home Ministry post, is incapable of ensuring safety of women, children, investors and others, then he must consider resigning, Rajeev said.
In a series of tweets on Friday, Rajeev alleged that the Pinarayi government "was stung by unrelenting media coverage on Pinarayi's complicity in Munnar encroachments." He had approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in May this year saying that environmental issues were being ignored due to high level corruption "emanating from the syndicate of government officials, bureaucrats, politicians, builders and developers."
Posting portions of the NGT petition, Rajeev said that it was proof enough for people to realise who supports encroachments and who fights them.
Saying that there is jungle or goonda raj in Kerala under the LDF government, Rajeev said:
And finally this for @CMOKerala @vijayanpinarayi - if u r hoping to intimidate me wth ur goons - this is a doomedtofail plan ! Im steadfast in my determination to rid #Kerala of yr type of violent politics!

On Thursday, DYFI workers marched to Niraamaya Retreats, Backwaters & Beyond in a village in Kumarakom, and vandalized five cottages. The resort is owned by entrepreneur and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar's strategic investment firm Jupiter Capital. It has been accused of encroaching into the Vembanad lake in Kerala’s Kottayam district.
