The News Minute | December 26, 2014 | 4.15 pm ISTThe trailer of a to-be-released Malayalam movie Nagaravaaridhi Naduvil Njan starring actors Sreenivasan and Sangeeta has taken everyone by surprise.The film’s trailer that was recently released shows the speech that the Prime Minister had made on Gandhi Jayanti, the day Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched. “Waste management is the main theme of the movie. The movie shows the story of a man who has returned from the Gulf with no savings at all. Despite his financially-troubled life he notices the garbage that is dumped in his neighbourhood and sets out to do something about it,” movie director Shibu Balan told The News Minute. As the movie trailer showed excerpts of the Prime Minister’s speech there were rumours that the movie was based on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The Director, however, cleared the air. “The movie was not inspired by the cleanliness campaign introduced by the government. The issue of household waste management has remained a serious one for quite some time and we started the work of the movie much before the campaign was launched by the government.
