Mollywood superstar Mohanlal and ace director Lal Jose announced their first project together Velipadinte Pusthakam some months ago, and the film has been progressing at a rapid pace.
And now, it has been officially announced that the shooting of this comedy drama has been wrapped up and the post production will begin.
Set in a college campus, the film is all about the relationship between the Vice Principal Michael Idikkula, played by Mohanlal, and the students.
Known for his different teaching methods, Prof Michael Idikkula is nicknamed Dracula by the students. His promotion as the Vice Principal and the events that follow form the crux of the film.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under his successful banner Aashirvad Cinemas, Velipadinte Pusthakam is slated for release on September 1st, 2017.
Interestingly, it was on this day last year, that one of the biggest hits in Mohanlal’s career, Janatha Garage was released. The film has an interesting star cast comprising Anna Reshma Rajan, Anoop Menon, Salim Kumar, Priyanka Nair, Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Alencier Ley Lopez, Arun Kurien, and Sarath Kumar in supporting roles.
Reports say that a major part of the shooting happened at the St. Xavier's College, Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram.
The team began shooting at the college on May 15th, 2017, and they also planted trees in the college campus where they were stationed for about forty days.
What makes the project even more interesting is that Mohanlal will be seen in three different get-ups. Sources also say that Velipadinte Pusthakam will be a complete film that will satisfy both Mohanlal’s fans and movie buffs. Confirming the end of the shooting, Mohanlal had posted on a social networking site, “It’s a wrap for #VelipadintePusthakam and you can welcome #Onam with this book.”
