The News Minute | December 3, 2014 | 08:34 am IST In what is reportedly an alleged incident of mob justice, an  unidentified man on Tuesday was thrashed in JP Nagar by the public till he fell unconscious. The man was allegedly harassing women in a public place when he was caught by some members of the public, who tied to a post. He was then thrashed. The man, at present, is reportedly undergoing treatment in NIMHANS. According to the police, the man's identity hasn't been ascertained yet as he is in no condition to speak, though some sources say his name is Punit. The police have registered a case against the members of the public involved in the incident. A senior police officer added saying that the mob might have got influenced by the Rohtak incident and wanted to grab headlines by assaulting the suspect mercilessly. Reacting to this, Bengaluru Commissioner of Police, M N Reddi has said, "If people have taken law into their hands, we will take action accordingly."An user on Reddit also published a post describing a similar incident near 'Kanakapura road near Sarakki', which had resulted in a huge traffic on the road. The user writes, 'I decided to check it out and went to find a guy like that. Took a picture and asked around what happened. Some people said he raped someone and cops did this. But lot of confusion.''So I went to traffic cop and asked him. He was rude and asked me to ******* after telling that this was a part of the police treatment and that guy committed some crime. Later some crime cops came and took the guy in a jeep. No Info after that. No news on internet anywhere. Now I am restless to know what could he have done to deserve this. Any Information will be very helpful', the user added.Tweet this story( This image was uploaded on Imgur )
