The News Minute | August 1, 2014 | 11.58 am IST The man who called for a woman to be “raped by rapists” on Facebook, has been arrested by the Bangalore police. Last Sunday a man named V R Bhat had posted a comment on Prabha N’s status, stating that “women like her should be dragged by the hair and raped by rapists”. He was angered by her post on people engaging in superstitious activities. Prabha is the state secretary of the Bharatiya Gyan Vijyan Samiti (BGVS). Bhat has written for Kannada newspapers, but is not a journalist.  Bhat had immediately apologised, and deleted his comment from Prabha's Facebook page, but someone had taken screen shots of his comment and these were widely shared on social media.  Read: Bangalore police register complaint against man who called for a woman to be raped The Chandra Layout police, who had registered a case against Bhat under Sections 504, 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, arrested Bhat on Saturday.  Earlier, it was thought that Bhat was a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
