The Hyderabad police on Saturday found the body of 35-year-old Shiva, a resident of LB Nagar, who had fallen from the fifth floor of an apartment at Banjara Hills. This has left the police contemplating whether it is a case of suicide, an accident or murder.

Shiva, was an IT technician in a private firm, and the incident took place at his office situated in Mass Heights Apartments, on Road number 8 in Banjara Hills, in the early hours of Saturday.

When Shiva's wife, who spoke to him last on Friday, did not get any response from him later, she contacted an acquaintance to check on him. The friend found Shiva lying in a pool of blood in the wee hours of Saturday. The police are also yet to completely rule out the possibility that the deceased may have slipped and fallen.

While the police have accessed the CCTV footage of Shiva falling down, they did not get any video of what transpired inside his office, which led them to book a case under Section 302 (Murder) of the IPC.

"There are a few stab injuries on Shiva. How the incident took place is still being investigated. We are questioning a few persons associated with his company. At the time of the incident, except Shiva, all other colleagues had left the office," Banjara Hills Inspector Kalinga Rao was quoted as saying to Times of India.

Shiva's body was sent to the state-run Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad for a post mortem. The police said that further investigation was underway and assured that they would crack the case soon.

Earlier this month, a woman died in the city's Rajendranagar area after she stepped into the pit of an elevator. The incident took place at a function hall, where Kamalamma accidentally opened the door of the lift on the third floor even as the elevator was on its way. The police said that she slipped and fell, which led to her death.
