A young man was brutally attacked and killed in Kerala’s Thrissur district on Thursday night after he was found in a married woman’s house. The woman's neighbours and some others in the locality, beat up the man who they later told the police was found “under suspicious circumstances".The man who succumbed to his injuries at the hospital was identified as Thavaheer, 29, of Anjangadi.According to Shaji Sub-inspector of Chavakkad police station, Thavaheer was questioned by a group of local people regarding his visit to the woman’s house. The woman, whose name has not been released, stays alone as her husband works abroad.“The local residents beat him up over an argument over his arrival here. Though they later rushed him to the hospital, we believe that he died on the spot,” the police official said.“This is the information we have from a preliminary inquiry conducted on the ground. We were not able to identify the people behind it.”Incidents of moral policing by people, often leading to tragic deaths, has been on rise in Kerala.Recently, a teenager had committed suicide in Thrissur as she was questioned by her neighbours for talking to a boy inside her house.
