The News Minute | February 16, 2015 | 10.30 AM IST | Updated on February 22, 2015 A fifty-five-year-old man was assaulted by a group of men in Kerala on Sunday, and later succumbed to his injuries. The man was then dumped into a residential compound where he succumbed to injuries late in the night. However, what is unclear is the motive behind the attack. News reports suggest that Prabhakaran, 55, was assaulted by a group of men in a bid to moral police as he had been visiting a woman. The police however claim that the attackers thought he was a thief as they had found Prabhakaran's presence near a house in Kulakalloor, Cherpulassery Sunday late evening suspicious. “The place has been witnessing many thefts in the recent past and people have been very vigilant. The men thought Prabhakaran to be a thief and assaulted him. After the assault they dumped his body in a nearby residential compound. He was found dead late in the night," this is what the police told The News Minute.
