MakeMyTrip is launching a new concept to address concerns of customers when they book hotels online. The Economic Times has reported that the new concept, called Assured Hotels, will categorise and certify hotels based on reviews, service and other such parameters.

MakeMyTrip has launched the concept today with a new TVC campaign and will initially cover around 5,500 hotels. It is also offering a 50% discount on bookings across cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Jaipur, Goa, Delhi and Hyderabad

Largely, three, four and five-star hotels will get quality assurance from MakeMyTrip. Other parameter include having clearly tagged locations, recent pictures that reinforce authenticity having neighborhood guides and clear policies.

Hotels like Fairmont Jaipur, Zuri Whitefield in Bengaluru and Lakeside Chalet by Marriott in Mumbai have already made the cut.

Saujanya Shrivastava, Group Chief Marketing Officer, MakeMyTrip told ET that assured hotels is a promise of an amazing stay experience with great service and a 24x7 hotline. “We are saying should you ever have a problem after you've checked in at any of these hotels, you could reach us on a 24x7 hotline and we will endeavor to resolve your problem in 60 minutes. Else, your stay will be free,” she added.

Additionally, MakeMyTrip also added a new payments platform PayPal to facilitate secure bookings to foreign tourists on the travel website. As per a report in The Hindu BusinessLine, MakeMyTrip will now be able to automatically send invoices to customers through email which will have a link to complete payment through PayPal.

MakeMyTrip currently has 34,000 hotels across India and 240,000 hotels internationally and will be using the automated invoicing feature of PayPal. This, PayPal says, will help foreigners tide over recent challenges they have been facing post demonetization.
