Former Australian hotshot batsman Matthew Hayden, who was recently in Chennai, as part of his trip to extend his support for the launch of Tamil Nadu Premiere League (TNPL) 2016 - a cricket tournament along the lines of IPL - took out time to watch Rajinikanth’s Kabali.

Hayden watched Kabali in Chennai’s Albert theatre and was bowled over by our Thalaivar’s screen presence. His first reaction after watching the film was Magizhchi. Hayden, who is the brand ambassador of TNPL, also visited the Madurai Meenakshi temple and had a taste of the Tirunelveli halwa as part of his tour to promote the tournament.

In the first edition of TNPL, eight teams will slug it out for the title. Featuring players who are registered with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), the league - consisting of 27 matches, including two semi-finals and a final - will be held from the end of August to the second week of September.
