Neyya is the latest smartring for gadget buffs to hit the tech market. A start-up based in Kerala launched the gadget which is capable of playing music, taking selfies, making calls and sending text messages.

Fin Robotics -the startup based in KINFR- formed by Rohildev, Suneesh, Jithesh, Mohammed Famees and Charles S Vincent- were the second runners-up in the regional finals of Microsoft BizSpark India Startup Challenge 2013, reports The New Indian Express.

“It is like any normal ring which you can wear in your index or any other finger of your choice.” says Rohildev.

Its flat top acts as a mini touch-pad which allows one to swipe in all geographical directions so as to activate various functions on a laptop or a smartphone.

The smart ring named Neyya has a metal frame and a jewelled chiclet which with just a tap of your finger can even initiate a power point presentation.

According to reports, the prototypes made in 2013 took almost 8-9 months. The product is currently marketed in the US and UK.

Neyya was designed with funds collected by the startup in a crowd-funding campaign during the TechCrunch Hardware Battlefield 2014.
