According to media reports, actor and wrestler Nathan Jones, last seen in “Mad Max: Fury Road” was approached to play a pivotal role in the Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer “Gauthamiputra Satakarni”. However, according to the film’s makers, the actor will not be a part of the film, which is currently being shot in Georgia.

The makers are gearing up to shoot a battle scene featuring over 1000 junior artists, 300 horses and 20 chariots. Jones was reportedly approached to play the leader of the Greeks, who slug it out with warriors of the Satavahana kingdom. Jones has already starred in Tamil film, “Bhooloham”, apart from landing the antagonist’s role in Tiger Shroff’s upcoming film, “Flying Jatt”.

The film’s producer Y Rajeev Reddy confirmed that the former wrestler was approached, but clarified that the plan did not pan out. “We had approached him with the offer and he was very excited. Unfortunately, the plan didn’t work,” he said.

Having already shot two battle sequences in Morocco and Hyderabad respectively, the makers plan to complete the third battle sequence in the course of the next couple of weeks, before resuming work on regular portions of the film. The film, which is being directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Krish, also stars Shriya Saran, Kabir Bedi and Hema Malini.
