It appears that even Fawad Khan’s handsome face and talent can no longer drown out the angry calls for the banishment of Pakistani stars from the Indian entertainment industry.

On Saturday, the head of the Zee Group Subhash Chandra tweeted that he was considering taking off the telecast of serials created in Pakistan.

This comes on the back of a wave of calls that India should take stern action against Pakistan. The current atmosphere of tension began to take shape after the Uri attacks. Pakistan’s stance in the UN and on Balochistan have not helped matters.

If Zee does pull Pakistani serials off air, there are likely going to be many broken hearts in India. Fans of the tele serials will sorely miss them, as entertainment will go back to being just ichchadhari nagins, and saas-bahu sagas stuck in a time warp in another planet with no similarities to Earth.

Fawad Khan, the most popular of the lot, has been loved and drooled over by Indian audiences. So much so, that Zindagi TV organized the Fawad Khan Festival between July 9-August 11, telecasting re-runs of the star’s hit television series such as “Numm”, “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” and “Humsafar”.

The channel even had the Fawad Khan contest, in which fans could send their heart-throb messages via WhatsApp.

Audiences also liked him in the 2014 romantic film Khoobsurat. This year saw the release of “Kapoor & Sons” and the upcoming “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”. Fawad also co-hosted an IIFA event this year at Madrid, both Karan and Fawad get along like a house on fire.
