The News Minute | November 1, 2014 | 5:15 pm IST We’ve all seen Science Fiction movies where human beings live on other planets in harmony with aliens and their own self sustainable societies.   Whether it was George Lucas’ “Star Wars” series or Stanely Kubrick’s “(2001) A space Odyssey”, we have accepted that space travel is inevitable and humans will colonize other planets. Our latest achievement seems to be the “Red Planet” with a lot of space programs by NASA targeted at Mars and studies being conducted to check for water and other life sustainable resources there. One of the most interesting ideas in the recent “BBC Future World Changing Ideas Summit” held in New York on October 21st of this year was colonizing Mars. An article in BBC titled "5 steps to colonizing mars" has made tales of science fiction sound quite plausible. Here’s a video about Former astronaut Jeff Hoffman describing his project to bring oxygen to mars.
