The News Minute | March 10, 2015 | 5.15 pm ISTDemocratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) is likely to conduct a "beef festival" all over India to protest against the law banning consumption or selling of beef in Maharashtra.MB Rajesh, Member of Parliament and DYFI National president, told The News Minute that the party will conduct beef festival in different parts of the country in the last week of March.“Nobody should decide what others should eat or not eat; what to wear or what to believe in is a personal decision. This particular ban in Maharashtra shows the traits of fascist rule. We are organising this fest to protest against these fascist decisions” Rajesh told TNM.According to him, the fest will be conducted in cooperation with other liberal organisations and members of the public who would like to participate.“We are opening the door to all. Any individual, organisations or groups can join us in this revolutionary protest,” he said.He also said that since DYFI is a "democratic political organisation", it has the responsibility to protest against these "anti-social decisions taken by government".The Communist Party of India MP from Palakkad constituency asserted that the nation is heading towards a dangerous fascist ideology.“It is a dangerous trend- religion, beliefs and fake morality will engulf our society. If someone doesn't like eating beef, then he can avoid eating beef, but he can’t force others to do that” he argued. He also said that today the society can’t even tolerate a boy and a girl walking together and expressed his anxiety over the fascistic practices of different organisations.Tweet  Follow @thenewsminute
