Looks like Kunchacko Boban is having an awfully busy schedule this year. Reports are that he has signed up to play the lead role in Allu Ramendran which will be directed by director Bilahari K. Raj of Porattam fame.

Featuring actors Aparna Balamurali, Chandni Sreedharan, Krishnasankar, Dharmajan Bolgatty and Hareesh Kanaran, the shooting of the movie commenced recently in Thodupuzha and is progressing well. Touted to be a comedy thriller, the film will have music composed by Shaan Rahman while the camera is being cranked by Jimshi Khalid. Aashiq Usman is bankrolling Allu Ramendran under his banner.

Kunchacko’s first movie to come out this year is Diwanjimoola Grand Prix. He then went on to work in movies such as Shikkari Shambhu, Kuttanadan Marpapa and Panchavarnathatha, which were all hits at the box office.

Yet another untitled Lal Jose- Sindhuraj film is also in the pipeline for Chackochan.

After debutting in a lead role in 1997, Kunchacko Boban has more or less been active in the Malayalam film industry except for a brief dry spell in the last half of the 2010s. However he came back with a bang, especially after the success of the film Ordinary. Kunchacko then got cast in a bunch of films with multiple actors in the lead. In his 22nd year as an actor (if you don’t count the child role he played in 1981 for the film Dhanya), Kunchacko is still counted among the young ‘heroes’ of Mollywood.
