Kerala Finance Minister KM Mani was accused of taking bribes from bar owners, then rice mill owners and finally jewelers. The Kerala assembly saw unprecedented ruckus this time with the opposition insisting the Mani should not present the budget.But K M Mani had his way and presented the budget.The controversies don't seem to die down, it doesn't look as if the Finance Minister is having a bad time. K M Mani appointed chairman of Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers on GST.The committee is engaged in preparing a framework for implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Chairman's post fell vacant after National Conference's Abdul Rahim Rather quit following defeat in Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections.The Chairperson posts for Empowered Committee's is by convention given to a leader who does not belong to the ruling party at the centre."Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will address the state FMs on Friday.
