In yet another setback for grounded carrier Kingfisher Airlines, a court in Hyderabad has sentenced the company’s former CFO A Raghunathan to 18 months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20, 000 on Thursday.

Erramanzil court was hearing a case pertaining to a bounced cheque of Rs 22.5 crore issued by Kingfisher to GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited.

GMR is the company which runs the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

Thursday's order comes after another court in the city convicted fugitive-liquor baron, the  Vijay Mallya in cases relating to two bounce cheques of Rs 50 lakh in April.  

Mallya whose passport was revoked by the Ministry of External Affairs is currently in the UK and has a non-bailable warrant issued against him on charges of wilfully defaulting on a Rs 9,000 crore combined bank loan.
