Janam TV, the proposed news-cum-entertainment channel will soon get its approval. The Indian Express report quotes "highly placed sources" in the I&B Ministry and says that Janam TV sought the government’s permission to start operations around two years ago. It further adds that Home Ministry under Sushil Kumar Shinde in a report to the I&B Ministry said that nothing was wrong with the channel, except that one of its directors is an RSS worker. It says that the I&B Ministry asked MHA to give a final answer, but no response came in, even after a senior functionary in the PMO recommended that it be cleared. The current government will now take the issue on priority, and Prakash Javadekar has written to Rajnath Singh regarding the matter.Janam TV has already recruited many journalists, technicians and others all over Kerala.
